Welcoming a new member of the family into the world is an important and joyous occasion. A Naming Ceremony can help deepen family relationships and establish a loving circle of care for the child.

The Naming Ceremony serves to remind all concerned of the great resonsibility involved in raising a child and to recognise and appoint those who will have an important role in the child's life. The Ceremony can incorporate parents, grandparents, godparents (mentors or guardians), and siblings.

A ceremony for those people who have chosen to go by a name other than their birth name. A public ceremony will reinforce the change of name and emphasise the importance of this event.
